Why I really think that this culinary thing is a marvelously delicious way to trick with a treat? Obviously, in a positive way, I mean…
A great opportunity to present a favorite dish in a new accessible and inviting ‘state’. Or, under a healthy, deliciously crispy cover, introduce something new and reduce or even avoid food rejection as a reaction to the unknown.
Look at the photo above . What would you do with these stuff?
Those simple and crucial for our wellbeing ingredients are supernatural choices to be included in a balanced, whole, and healthy diet.
For those who prefer ‘comfort food’, this is an option to have they can’t ignore!
However, in any form and edition – baked, stuffed, fried-always great opportunity to have a try and to make available some extra food choices thanks to a tasty ‘external’ variation, keeping the ‘loved food’ looking like their favorite dish
If you’ve never tried this yet, you MUST not simply avoid temptation and have a go for one variation of my recipes – they are all easy and quick enough to prepare and super flavorsome!
The most important ingredient I just can’t swap with anything even similar is the magic of fresh aromatic herbs. Nothing will taste as good as the green and mouthwatering leaves!

The mixes might be used as a breading option for any kind of food – veggies, fish, or meat. Even fruits!

You can prepare it 100% vegan or you can add some freshly grated cheese to be mixed with crunchy bread chunks. The secret of their popularity is that they can make even the simplest ingredients amazingly tasty and delicious even for the most capricious children, combining authenticity and flavor of a few natural and genuine parts.

You might be searching for a gluten-free option of breadcrumbs. Nothing so dramatically difficult! Passing your regular gluten-free bread in the oven once it’s already stale makes it a perfect candidate for a tasty and what’s most important – allergy triggers free, restored and still eatable piece of your pantry. Priceless btw…

When you have small kids it seems that all that’s crunchy, fried, yellowish, or brown colored no matter salty or sweet…it’s high in the checklist of ‘wanted!”

One of the good things about breading you can prepare at home is the advantage of choosing ingredients to put together and set up an impeccable and healthy piece of culinary art! And it’s not only healthy and smells good. It looks even better! And the ingredients are completely switchable.
My battle horse is parsley, lemon juice, and garlic.
You can try to swap lemon and lime to make it more ethereal and sprightly if it doesn’t bother you and obviously do no cover the taste of the main ingredient of your dish.
The preparation is quite easy and the whole procedure applies to all the recipes in this article.

Wash parsley, dry it carefully and put the first ingredient in the blender. It’s no need you chop it finely – a blender will make this job quite perfectly. Add the juice of a squeezed lemon (a half of it – 2 teaspoons is enough). Clean one small clove of garlic. Add also a pinch of salt and freshly ground pepper. Last but not least – 2 handful of breadcrumbs and 3 full tbs of EVO. Now you are set for the final touch. Blend for about 2 minutes. With a long spoon, you can check from time to time the bottom of the blender if it’s clear to keep everything evenly ground and mixed.

If you have to stick to a brown/yellowish color – you can use some nuts (if not an allergy trigger) – good option is a handful of almonds or cashews nuts. Both are kinda sweet so remember to add some extra salt to the mixture.
The other interesting option is green olives and anchovies.
This one you could use for red meat preparation for example or for pasta as well – it’ss extremely savory so you have to be very careful with all the doses. Olives you want to use are obviously without stone – green or black olives it actually really doesn’t matter, all kinds of olives are fine (depends on your preferences). For two handful of breadcrumbs you will use not more than 4 halves of anchovies under oil and a full tbs of olives. 2 tbs of EVO, a pinch of pepper, and if you like to add some extra kick – some red onion. Salt absolutely to be skipped in this combination.
Another crazy and amazing combination is rosemary, sage, and orange peel.
Wash and dry the aromatic herbs. Wash, dry, and remove orange peel. Combine the fragrant herbs, zest, a pinch of salt, a handful of chopped white onion – I recommend the white one because it’s quite mild and sweet (rinse once it’s chopped), a tablespoon on EVO, and the breadcrumbs in a blender. Blend all until smooth. You will be surprised how good does it smell and taste even better!
The fact is that you could even use the Brasilian farofa recipe to prepare your fancy breading based on cassava flour – 100% vegan and gluten-free! It takes fully any flavor you mix it with so even better than the classic breadcrumbs actually. All the procedures are completely the same if you gust swap bread with cassava flour – remember to choose the one not finely ground for a better experience!
Have fun!
