We found a lot of picture books and documentaries that meets my son’s nerd needs. Believe me, there were times the only thing I was hearing, wherever & whenever, it was solar system stuff and information about even the smallest planet and its moons. And we were singing songs and watching National Geographic documentaries. Star Wars (all) episodes and YouTube educational videos for kids.
We still do.
And its amazing!
I prepare a list of great sources of info and fun for kids’ craving for knowledge.
1.Professor Astro Cat’s Frontiers of Space.
2. Look Inside Space – our loved Usborne
3.Infographic books featuring Solar System and space facts, data and news. Great design and wonderful colours. For kids 4+ and grown ups as well. Best positions in our opinion are:
Doctor Who:Whographica:An Infographic guide to space and time (pre-order!)
4.National Geographic for Kids rules!
5.Some gadgets:
University of Cambridge Solar System model (unfortunately no longer manufactured, found used)
or the new one available on Amazon Solar System and Planetarium by Geosafari
6. Apps
Solar Walk olar System Planets, Orbits, and Moons with Movies and Lessons.
Professor Astro Cat’s Solar System (!!!)
Enjoy!
