It’s waiting for you to boost your interior power.
1. This Book Is A Planetarium by Kelli Anderson
If your household habitants are hungry for experiments and unusual representations of quite usual items – this is THE book. Just adding that it’s a pop-up position makes it one of the greatest books we own on our bookshelves.
Surprising, actually fully functional as it stands on its description, turning on the imagination and plugging in the curiosity you need to explore those six extraordinary tools.
The author explains what is the main idea of every creation she designed and makes you experience it in an interactive way you will be amazed of.
The attention to every small detail is incredible and both – text and tools – are very well done. It seems to be very fragile. It is actually. But you do not need to use a superior force to arrive to its idea. That all make it so special and magical.
2. Thing Explainer by Randall Munroe
This one doesn’t really need an explanation to review. This one explains itself better that anyone could ever do. Amazing, brilliant, humorous and uncommonly well written using only 1.000 simple, frequently used words. One and only thing required? Curiosity! Let’s learn how and why things work! Suitable for all ages, absolutely.
3. Codex Seraphinianus by Luigi Serafini
Codex is the most expensive publication of all four I presented in this article. Mostly because of its volume and quality paper used.
Feed your starving soul with its extremely surreal drawings. Suggestive and dreamed-up. Rich in colours like ripe fruits. The images are hypnotising and captivating. Its truly bizzare how the author interprets his visions and ideas. The drawings convey to a radiant world but there is always something that, if you look closely enough, may freak you out. There is something that is unusual, shouldn’t be there or do not even exist in a real world. Mostly the third option. The representation of concepts is utterly remarkable and one of a kind. And the language that was invented for this book only is like a cherry on top. MARVELLOUS!
4. Maps – by Aleksandra & Daniel Mizielinski
Once you are in possess of it and you can’t just stay there and stare on it. You won’t be able to keep your hands off of this item. If I could do a soup out of this, I would! Believe me! Its so cosy and full of informations. And funny thing is that you browse though it and you do not even realise you ‘consume’ the knowledge it provides.
Kids are like kidnapped by this book. Their tiny fingers are crossing paths passing by all the countries, mountains and deserts. For those still without reading skill is super fun as well as its just bursting out with colourful drawings from everywhere.
The great masterpiece of Mr. and Mrs. Mizielinski leaves you always more hungry for informations. you will get back to it surely! And your kids will grow up with this book as it will never get old enough for its content. The fun facts, traditions and historical events and places or personalities never get too old, just updated (maybe).
