Do your kids love Play-Doh? Well, I bet yes!

Kids on the spectrum often spend hours with their hand immersed in the colorful stuff for modeling. Squeezing and rolling and touching with their small fingers. For kids with neurodevelopmental disorders those kid of stimulation activity brings calm and focus. 

But there is not only the classic clay that leaves everything dirty and oily. Or the famous Play-Doh that sells also various kits for modeling in different scenarios.

All products are aged 3+ but as usual, if your toddler is supervised it is  completely fine to join the sensory party.

There is much to discover!

1. Moosh! Modeling Foam

Incredibly fluffy ‘pâté’. Light and no-odor. Amazingly sticks together and this is the reason this one is on POOL POSITION in my clay-race. 

Non-sticky but only to itself. Non-toxic. Non-drying. Colorful and marvelously soft. What else you could ask for!?! It’s perfect!

You can use it for both therapy modeling or sensory play. Or just to have some fun and create something cute. 

2. Magnetic Putty

Firstly: important info-DO NOT store close electronic devices or credit cards! 

After this warning, you can do whatever you want with it. Particularly have a lot of magnetic fun with this super strange slime-like product. If you have a bunch of different size and strength magnets you will definitely have to use to play a silly dance with the putty. Here you have some ideas:

3. Kinetic Sand

This classic choice always cheers my boys up. It’s like playing with the real beach sand but it’s much more sticky so you can build way advanced constructions and it never dries! It’s incredibly mesmerizing to watch it ooze and kid of melt like ice. The only problem is it sticks to itself but not as efficiently as the fluffy foam. Once you tried them both, you will notice the difference.

4. Light clay

Extra light, smushy, air dry, no-odor and non-sticky modeling dough that is remarkably plastic. You can make some shapes, bend it and stretch it and it dries overnight without baking. It’s very soft and easy to work with so even a small kid will find it absolutely user-friendly!
